Time Management

When I first thought about time, the first saying that jumped into my mind was the one so often repeated everywhere around us. Hearing the quote “Time is money” -literally every day- shows how materialistic people became. But NOO! Time is way more precious than money.

Most of us believe that time is eternal. It has neither a beginning nor an end. The time can also be considered as a TOK subject. Knowing how hard to find out an answer for such a controversial question, men simply measured it as years, months, days, hours, minutes and seconds. Also, they gave meaning for the words past, future and present. Grace of this division of time, people should now be able to manage their time.

Many people claim that they have so much to do but not enough time. They blame lack of body exercising, finance, and unaccomplished objectives on time. That is not right. If we managed our time wisely, we will certainly find an unfilled room for all our activities. Basically, everything on earth is set to a time frame. We all move according to a one and only curriculum. We were all born than grow until we are adolescence, youth, middle age and so on until we die. Every phase of our life is fixe to a certain amount of time. That’s god way of managing our life in general and so should be our daily life because time is a priceless resource that can’t be saved. Once wasted cannot be retrieved.  

It’s true we may need extra time to de everything in life, yet if we wait for extra time to appear we might loose everything. Time managed correctly, can create some spare time. People have to schedule their life because time is a free force. It will never wait for us. As wise man once said: “time and tide waits for no man”.

To conclude, controlling the time will allow our personal growth on varies levels. It will help us set our priorities. Therefore it will guarantee more experience in life. We will also become more productive, and achieve things with less effort and time. So hurry up and be the wise that make use of the time fruitfully. And remember; never waste it because if you did, it will waste you.

After thirty years of suffering and affliction caused by a regime’s tyranny, dictatorship as well as despotism, the sun has finally determined to shine in our beloved country. Having an extraordinary enthusiasm and an incomparable impetus, this majestic nation was able to annihilate an indomitable regime. Nevertheless, after living in an atmosphere flooded by humiliation, ignorance and poverty during    

The Qualities Of A Good Friend

Honest, funny, unique, interesting, attentive, adaptable, supportive, giver, loyal, positive are all the words that jumped into my mind when I first though of the qualities of a good friend. Also, I contemplated on one of the most popular saying about friends that states that friends have to admire your pros and ignore your cons. Hence, I decided to write a long sustained and angelic post in order to define the word “friend”. Suddenly, I got a whisper in my mind that reminds me that the qualities, which I expect to be in my friends, should – at least some of them- be present in me. As a result, I took a moment to re-contemplate about the criteria, which I established to define a good friend. Comparing those qualities to my own, I discovered that I did not only over estimate them but also turns out to be describing holy beings that were sent by god which is -no offense- far way from the truth. By then, I went-over and examined how can I assume a person is a go friend or not. Therefore, I only found a unique answer yet recognized by many different sources. Taking as an example a quote from the “Torah” which necessitates that “what is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor” or even another quote from the “Koran” which states that “no one of you is a believer until he desires for his brother that which he desires for himself”. So, I think these two quotes say it all. From the moment when you feel like sharing the same chemistry and some common interests as well as assure that you’re friendship is based on the concept mentioned above, you have to let your friend acts freely around you. As for myself, the most I can do for my friends is simply be their friend –their true friend.

A True Brother

Who said brothers and sisters should share childhood,

Build prodigious sand castles on a sunny and sparkling summer morning,

Who said it’s too late to have a brother

A true brother.

A grade 8 girl, going to school delightfully,

Therefrom, appears a school hero into her life surprisingly

Who becomes the reason why her sun shines everyday agreeably

Therefore she’s proud to call him a true brother

Thrilled to have someone to fight and to get in trouble with,

Someone to tell her secrets to, and to laugh and cry together

Therefore she’s proud to call him a true brother

Even though she knows he’s not a child of her mother

Yet she’s proud to call him a true brother. 

Constitution

The constitution is the framework of fundamental laws and principles that establish the nature or function of governments. However, It doesn’t only concern sovereign states but different levels of organizations – from sovereign states to unincorporated associations. Its role is to protect the citizens’ rights and freedom by imposing laws on those who practice political power. Basically, the constitution protects people from the threat of tyranny.

            In 1877, explorations was made by Ernest de Sarzec found evidence of the earliest form of government. It was issued by the Sumerian king Urukagina of Lagash around 2300 BC. It’s perhaps the first document that imposed some laws for citizens to follow, although the document hasn’t been found yet. However, we know some of the rights that the document allows to its citizens. For example, it relieves tax for widows and orphans, and protects the poor from being exploited by rich people. By then, many governments ruled by same concept of written laws. The oldest document known to exist is Code of Ur-Nammu of Ur, issued in 2050 BC.

              Personally, I wished that we could form the presidential elections before doing the constitution because once it’s established; I believe that it will affect peoples’ choice. However, in order to have a president we have to have a parliament and a constitution since it’s necessary to swear the oath while having an “activated” constitution. In fact, I believe that having the constitution written first or having the presidential elections first is not a big deal. The real problem is in the candidates whom are charged to write the new constitution; who apparently are seeking to constitute the laws depending on their personal orientation – exactly like the old regime.  

New Year's Resolution

They say New Year’s Day is every man’s birth. It’s a time where everyone tends to look back at there past and more importantly seek to improve their future. New year’s eve gives us the opportunity for a new beginning. It creates for us a favorable circumstance to reflect on the change we need in our lives as well as a good fortune that helps us make peace with ourselves before the others. As an optimistic, throughout my childhood and a few teenage years, I use to wait every New Year’s Eve until midnight to welcome the New Year with joy and faith. Faith to be a better year, blessed with welfare and mercy.

 Unfortunately, this year, I acted like a pessimist. I was counting down every second until midnight to watch 2011 finally leaving. To me, the second after midnight was exactly like the second when a policeman arrests a danger thief. Making sure that 2011 will never be back, I started stating how bad this year was or even how awful our country is just like a small kid annoying a locked dog knowing that he won’t be able to hurt him.

Basically, this New Year’s Eve was not more than a change of a calendar and not like every year a symbol of a better tomorrow. So obviously I didn’t came up with a New Year resolution. I felt that people took this calendar change as a reason to have a better tomorrow or a brighter future. Personally, I believe that we can have a better tomorrow every day. Life changing decisions are not meant for New Year’s only. Waiting for New Year’s to change is like a nonchalance student waiting for a new semester to start working just because his too lazy to begin immediately. But the thing is, if you keep postponing your decision, you’ll never get to do them.     

However, I took this assignment as an obligation to think of a New Year’s Resolution or maybe to reflect on a simple change I need in my life. Eventually, it’s obvious that my definition about New Year’s  was changed due to what happened in 2011.  So I decided to try to refresh my memory and remember my old definition about New Year’s Eve. Also, I determined myself to look at the bright side of 2011 and open my eyes on the great lessons taught by this unique year. As a result, I decided to start being thankful and grateful for what I have and have faith that every thing happens for a reason instead of whining and bragging all the time. 

Globalization

Everyday we hear about a developing theory called globalization. This theory affects the whole world in either a direct or an indirect way. Yet, many people can’t identify what’s the “globalization”. Basically, this system encourages the contact between different nations. It promotes favorable circumstances to   exchange various resources between countries.  

Eventually, like any other “theory”, the globalization owns advantages as well as disadvantages. Starting with the benefits of the globalization, we can observe that it helps linking the nations to each other. Not only through economic cooperation but also through trade, religious, philosophy, biological organisms as well as many other things. Obviously, this system increases economic cooperation, which leads to better connections between countries. This aspect helps promoting world safety and security by creating political relationships. Furthermore, using this system, developed countries can help those who are underdevelopment. On the other side, globalization has several disadvantages. To start with, globalization increases the spread of different diseases around the world in an insignificant time such as the Black Plague. Moreover, starting from the 1600’s, the system was no longer based on trading natural resources only but trading humans also. In fact, globalization provides slavery. In addition, it has transpired that the globalization is one of the most important factors of the environment degradation due to their illegal disposal of dangerous materials that could definitely terminate on the natural resources. At last but not least, economic measures become a pressure weapon in international disputes. In fact, it exerts social and ethical pressure on developing nations.

Accordingly, this topic represents a great contravention because of its two sides. Firstly, globalization helps linking countries as well as helps improving the under developed ones. That why there are many people who believe that globalization will create a “utopian world society”. On the other hand, nations who are involved in the exchanging processes are somehow forces to have the same social norms. As a result, there is a hug cultural integration. Eventually, many other people believe that globalization will “cause the obliteration of less-dominant cultures”. As for my point of view, globalization benefits many countries all around the world. Also, It promotes safety by creating political relations between nations. Additionally, it gives a hand for under-developed countries and helps their growth. However, it doesn’t give the developing countries the complete liberty to choose their own way of developing as well as there own culture. But, at the end of the day nothing is perfect. We have to accept some situations and integrate into them until finding another solution.
